Sainsbury's taste of summer 2010

Whether you're barbecuing with the kids, picnicking with friends, or entertaining in the back garden, Sainsbury's has everything you need, with a brand new summer eating range for 2010.

BBQ STAPLES

A barbecue isn't complete without a burger and Sainsbury's has the perfect guilt-free option for every occasion this summer. 

Be Good to Yourself 2 Quarter Pounder Beef Burgers (£1.99) use a leaner cut of meat to offer 30% less fat, whilst still providing a juicy and flavoursome bite.

Or for something a little more adventurous, treat friends and family to luxurious Taste the difference burgers, including Beef with West Country cheddar cheese & fresh chive (£3.29), and Lamb with Moroccan spices & fresh coriander (£3.29).

And for those barbecuing for a large party, Sainsbury's 4 pack basics hamburgers are the perfect thrifty option.  At only £1.50, the slightly smaller burgers (100g each) are ideal for feeding little mouths, or serving with a generous array of salads and sides.

To create a plentiful spread, Sainsbury's is bringing back the popular 2 for £5 offer across all barbecue meats, throughout summer.  Available on a choice of 100% British chicken, beef, lamb and pork, it's the perfect excuse to hold your own World Cup party for friends and family.

Offering inspirational meal ideas from the Orient, Pork Kebabs with coriander, chilli & ginger, Chicken Breasts with a soy sauce, honey & ginger glaze and Chilli & coriander Salmon Fillets will create a fragrant twist to the traditional barbecue. 

SALADS AND SIDES

No matter how big the party, Sainsbury's new range of larger pack salads is great value for family feasts.  Whether you're in need of creamy coleslaw, traditional potato salad, or something a little more flavourful, the selection, which includes 30 brand new summer sharing options, caters for every occasion.

New for 2010, Sweet Chilli Noodle Salad (£1.39) made with egg noodles and vegetables in a sweet chilli dressing makes a great accompaniment to freshly grilled fish.  Or try Taste the difference Israeli & Sardinian Cous Cous Salad (£1.89), with fregola and a rich flavoursome tomato and harissa dressing, which is ideal at family picnics.

Embrace the summer sun with a leisurely family picnic or romantic Saturday afternoon in the park, all made complete with food to share.  Try Taste the difference Chicken & Pesto Tart and new Taste the difference Mediterranean Vegetable & Prosciutto Flammé (both £2.79) made with Sainsbury's Signature, all-butter puff pastry, juicy red and yellow peppers, and courgettes, Prosciutto ham and creamy mozzarella.

DELICIOUS DESSERTS

Make the most of the hot weather with a selection of 116 delicious new ready-to-eat desserts.

Make dinner for two even more special with the choice of Sainsbury's new twin pack desserts, which include mouth-watering Pot au Chocolate and Chocolate & Caramel Bombes (both £3.50)

Inspired by the USA and set to be a family favourite, Sainsbury's new Brownie Mudslide Pie, Very Berry Pie and Toffee Toffee Flapjack Pie (all £3.00) will provide the perfect ending to a Sunday summer meal.
